What do you need for the puff pastry tree:
-
2 rolls of fresh puff pastry
-
1 egg
-
Grated cheese
Preheat the oven to 200 °C degrees. Take 1 roll of puff pastry and unroll it on the baking tray. Spread the freshly made pesto on the puff pastry. Unroll the second roll of puff pastry onto the smeared pesto. Cut away the 2 long corners with a pizza cutter and make a trunk at the bottom. Cut strips from the sides towards the center. Turn these strips over in a spiral. You can make a star from the cut away puff pastry, which you can use as the Christmas tree peak. Brush the tree with the egg and sprinkle a handful of grated cheese over the tree. Bake the tree in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!
Tip: store the tree in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1 day. It can be served cold or hot!
