Frankfurter Grüne Soße

DSC09853.jpg

As the name suggests, this green herb sauce comes from Frankfurt. It is a traditional German sauce and there is a nice bit of history attached to it. The story goes that French Huguenots brought the sauce to Germany in the mid-16th century and it has been indispensable in Frankfurt ever since. A monument has even been erected in Frankfurt Oberrad in honour of Frankfurter Grüne Soße.

We offer several spice mixes within our range. The ‘’Green sauce herb mix‘’ is 1 of them. This can be ordered year-round, so you can easily get started in the kitchen yourself to make this spicy, fresh sauce.

What you need:

  • 10g chives

  • 10g dill

  • 10g chervil

  • 10g parsley

  • 10g sorrel

  • 1 tbsp mustard

  • 250 ml sour cream

  • 2 hard-boiled eggs

  • Salt and pepper
